"If I am not busy day dreaming about new appliances or where I'd like to take my future as a designer, you'll find me in my pink and red living room watching the Simpsons or literally memorizing every show on the HGTV channel. I am a design addict and a dreamer to the core," she chuckles. Sugandh was born and raised in Pune, a cosmopolitan city on the west coast of India. Even as a child she recalls being artistically inclined and being that one student in class who drew all the event posters, won art competitions, and awed her classmates with her talents.
At 15, Sugandh represented India for an entire year in Germany as a Cultural Ambassador through the Rotary Club. This experience cultivated her interest in international arts and design. After completing her high school education in India, she attended the Industrial Design program at the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States. This intense 4 year program refined her raw talent and transformed it into award winning skills.
Over the past few years, Sugandh has had the opportunity to work with Brands such as Victoria's Secret, Bosch, Siemens, Kitchen Aid, Jenn Air and Whirlpool, among others. While she enjoys every aspect of product design, she especially enjoys working on creating strong Visual Brand Language for products and conceptualizing for innovation. Sugandh recently quit her full time job as an Industrial Designer for Whirlpool Corporation to pursue her Masters in Design Management at Pratt Institute in New York. She is now interested in advancing her career in Fashion and home accessories industry and also focusing on Sustainable design.
